Shorts: ASOS | Belt: DHOLIC | Top: Lily Brown

When Macklemore helped us understand the joys of thrifting from once trash to “another man’s come up,” the dig for second-hand threads on the interweb exploded with possibilities for those many poor youtube/tumblr savvy college life pockets to keep being stylish – even if it may have come from your grandpa or ma’s closet.

Folkstyle may be the best at representing every Millennial’s affectionate overuse of the hashtags #OOTD #Wanderlust since it combines both the free-to-be-me gypsy boho trend mixed with the thirst-for-travel ethnic inspired details.

It reminds me of my Japanese culture teacher while I was still at university who wore a new outfit from the many countries she visited. She’s been to over 48 countries and counting! She is definitely someone who truly breathes and lives to learn and teach other cultures while being a well-traveled lady herself! Imagining all the passport stamps and leftover currency she must have collected over the years…

Side note, I am also completely taken by the brand Lily Brown and this cute-to-handle top from their first Autumn Collection lineup. I love the cute embroidery but I must say, the mesh material itches like hell! Alas, beggars can’t be choosers… even with that price tag hmm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now to find some big ass coat…that I might need to get from my grandmother…

Until Next Time!

This is a really interesting look, Siree; the very formal-looking “top” (lovely lacy embroidered shirt, scarf, and the wonderful coat…) with the cute fringe-y shorts as a very casual “bottom”. You didn’t show us your shoes but I could see them being either a restatement of the formal “top” (suede boots, say, or socks and pumps) or a continuation of the informal “bottom” (flips or sandals…)

But you absolutely rock it!

You styled folk fashion like a boss! Loving how you mixed the traditional feeling with a more modern blazer to keep the look fresh. The embroidered details on that top are stunning and you are a photography genius! Loving how you put this whole post together!

Quite a mix Talyssa, I really like how the jeans and the top seem to be worlds apart, yet come together magically. I am all for that fabulous top-

Oh, how sad that it’s itchy. That top is too cute
