were once so sure but now I watch in regret’s shadow.
It’s complicated; an unrelenting strain.
So I’ll wait for a change in the wind,
a sign that answers my anxious waiting.
Then maybe I can start again.
Never fearing of what could have been,
and wondering who will I be tomorrow.

It’s a new year and although many may reflect on 2017 as a year of great triumphs and achievements, I for one saw it on the other side of positive. I still wonder as I look back at the signs of things going bad. So obvious yet why I didn’t take action I will never understand. Regret is something that eats at your consciousness leaving you paralysed to think you are beyond help. A lesson learned through the bitterness of seeing the door closed before you and doing nothing to stop it.
If I could do one thing right this year, it would be to never take a situation for granted. With this, it is not to make your life more complicated but to live like you will never regret the decisions you made with full conviction and the events you decided to let slip away from you.
What are some bad habits you’re giving up on in 2018?
‘Great style is a display of each woman’s personality’
Show your personality with MYJS’ new Mix Collection. Playful and creative, this collection gives you the freedom to craft your own unique pieces that match your personal style. With a variety strands to mix, match and connect together, there’s absolutely no rules other than the ones you create!
Don’t know where to start? See my guide below:
1. Trust your personal style
To get started, choose strands that match your personal style. Do you find yourself drawn to an elegantly simple style? Does a bohemian or romantic style make your heart sing? Does your rock chic style suit your fierce personality perfectly? Whatever it is, choose staple strands that you find yourself naturally drawn to.
TIP: 5 strands are a good place to start, that way you’ll be able to create a few different jewellery variations.
My style is a mix of romantic and edgy, so I choose five strands that I was attracted to the most. I love rose gold, but the bracelets also come in a silver colour. Find links to my picks at the end of this post.
2. Get started with a simple click!
There’s something incredibly freeing about having no rules to your jewellery! MYJS have made their collection with freedom at its core. Choose from a variety of different strands that connect together and have fun changing your look at any time!
Each strand is approximately 17cm in length and is fitted with magnetic clasps so your standalone bracelet can become a choker, a long necklace or a wrap bracelet!
The MYJS Mix Collection clicks together with a magnetic clasp! For the above look, I went with an elegant long necklace to keep things simple
3. Experiment with different looks
Connect multiple strands and layer them on top of each other to create a myriad of different looks.
To create a more bohemian feel, I created one long necklace and wrapped it around my wrist to achieve a layered bracelet look. I also did the same for my ankle.
4. Play with structure
To create a necklace with a bit more structure, combine a few of the same style strands together or alternate between two different strands. To create the doubled choker below, I alternated between two of my favourite strand styles.
Another option I love is creating a necklace with only one strand being different to the others. Use this strand as the “statement” piece of your necklace and feature it in the center of your chest.
TIP: To make your statement strand stand out, accompany it with simpler strands of the same style.
Here I’ve chosen the middle strand to be the hero of the necklace and accompanied it with two of the same strands for consistency. Connect all three together to create a more structured necklace.
5. Take your jewellery into the Night!
When choosing my strands, I also made sure I had a few glitzy picks in there to glam up my look for a night out. These pearls added an elegant and glamorous touch to my evening dress.

I once knew someone who told me that my recycling efforts (I’m an avid recycler haha) were in vain and that one person couldn’t make a difference. Being the optimist I am, I greatly disagreed.
If I were the only person in the world that recycled, I would still make a difference in terms of my personal contribution. Would I solve the problem? No, but I would impact it. Even if it were ever so slightly.
I would go so far as to say that the idea of ‘one person being able to make a difference’ is a concept that is designed to work collectively. If everyone in the world thought they could make a difference on a particular problem, everyone’s combined contribution would make a significant impact and could even fix the problem.
So, if you believe in something, then take action! Your little ripple could end up disturbing a mighty river!
Side note: This was the first shoot that my boyfriend helped me out with and he did a pretty good job don’t you agree?? I feel like this is the first relatively casual look I’ve done in a long time. I absolutely love the floral design on this top – it reminds me of a giant lotus flower which is very fitting to the location.
How about you? Do you think ONe person can make a difference?
A while ago, I received a message from someone close telling me they were feeling a bit depressed due to family but was doing ok. Being an emotional person myself, I thought I could lend an ear but they described it as simply being “nothing” and “it’s just what happens.”
I wanted to shake it out of them! But, I know what it’s like to have family issues. I’m good at being able to push through it, but I also know when I need to talk. No matter how “high-functioning” you are, know that there are people who care about you and seek help when times get hard.
I want to share something small that has recently given me a lot of clarity.
A few days ago I stumbled upon chance this short video of a longer article you can find here.
The wording is penned so thoughtfully it finally gave me words I always struggled to find when connecting the feelings of describing my own depression to myself or others. I may not fall neatly in black or white terms “clinically depressed” but I don’t have to be “in a bad mood” to be so. Know that I’m strong willed yet insecure. I may feel hopelessness but I cope.
I know that I have you and I know I’m OK.
And though I can be feeling this way for a day to maybe a few months, I don’t want to give up.
As a PSA, if you or someone you know needs help, The Mighty has some great helpful articles on mental illnesses and find prevention resources near you. Sometimes it can be hard not only for suffers but supporters of suffers as well. Always know that your support means more than you think and always be understanding and patient.
Do you remember when you were a child and the days were so long? When a year took forever to complete and Christmas was too far away?
Have you ever been so caught up in a moment that time stopped? And then in a second it’s over, never to repeat again. Maybe it was a moment of triumph, of accomplishment, or maybe it was a moment missed.
Each year I miss the Cherry Blossoms here in Sydney but this year I made sure to go see them! I also combined it with a shoot featuring this gorgeous playsuit from Alice McCall, one of my favourite brands. Very fitting with the Cherry Blossom theme this piece features delicate and intricate lacing which I love.
I want to take a moment to talk about moments missed. I find that life often throws you choices and opportunities that you only get a split second chance to seize, before you lose them forever. I’ve learnt that if you’ve found someone special tell them and don’t let them go because finding a good person is rare. Or if you have the chance to travel or take on a new business venture, just do it. You’ll gain so much more from taking the chance, than not and always left wondering about the what ifs.
Was there a time when you let a moment slip through your fingers?
Channeling some inner witchery, the month of October is probably the best time to bust out some hocus pocus and upgrade your everyday look with a slight magic touch. A bit of glitter shimmer cast over the eyelids, some costume jewellery that charms like a spell. The festive air brings the occasion to celebrate the inner cheeky devil in us all.
Speaking of styling, the cut of this BNKR playsuit is pure witchcraft garb magic. I love how the sleeves flow from the collar and ends in high elongated cuffs for dramatic flow. It’s become one of my favourite online stores to browse and feel inspired!
What was your halloween outfit this year?
Until Next Time!
